Lydia Boland

Stage and Screen Actor, Producer based in New York City

Meet Lydia…

My acting “career” began at four in commercials for my dad’s car dealership in St. Louis, my only requirement was a blue wig. I loved being in front of the camera and making people smile. An audition tape of me at six, so present and alive, later moved me to tears; I recognized then why I became an actress and felt my path was worth it.

Now 21 and finishing a BFA in Drama at NYU Tisch, my purpose has deepened but remains rooted in that joy. I still want to make people laugh, but training has taught me to evoke the full range of feeling joy, sorrow, discomfort, nostalgia, hope — and to prioritize the audience’s experience over my own. My job is to serve the story.

I’ve also embraced producing. Behind the scenes I thrive on vision, collaboration, and problem-solving. Producing lets me shape a project from idea to finished piece while acting lets me surrender to a role. Together they give me a complete creative voice. I'm eager to keep developing.
